A timeless love story with enchanting music by Jean Jacques Rousseau, Le Devin du Village (1752) is a musical comedy whose inspiration is found in the simplicity of nature and the conviction of mankind. One-act Le Devin du Village was the philosopher´s first success in the field of opera, and so popular that it was performed regularly for 60 straight years! Three characters – the lovers Colin, Colette, and the village soothsayer (Le Devin), along with the factotum stage director Adrián Schvarzstein delight how simple elements – and maybe even the occasional audience member! - turn into props to retell this ageless tale. Be sure to check out our video, photos, and sound clips!!
